to retire it or not?

biblesm

This has been my only bible.  It has been with me through all of my spiritual growth.  It has traveled far and wide,  but alas it it’s spine is breaking and pages are coming out.  It makes me sad.  The front pages have my childlike handwriting confessing sins that weighed heavy on my heart, at 15.  I have so many notes in there from countless bible studies of my college years.  This picture above was from it’s more recent travels to New Zealand and Fiji.  Should I continue it’s journey for selfish reasons of reminising? Or just let it retire? How do I just put this on the bookcase, it’s lived beside my bed (sometimes in my bed beside me), on my coffee table, in my car…

Anyway, that might seem silly to some of you, but it’s a tiny bit emotional – but I’ll survive…lol.   :)

awww! “it’s lived in my bed (sometimes in my bed beside me)”
i love it! and it’s so true.

i had a Bible like that and it lives in my bookcase now with my filled journals. it was hard for me to get a new one but, as with yours, the pages were coming out and it had seen younger days.

see it more as this Bible has done its job and now it’s time to move on. you still love Him and He will be there for you to look through when you want…but you’re entering a new stage. you’ve grown up a lot, you’ve learned a lot, and now it’s time to get another Bible to take you through the next 10 or so years.
